Dublin Region - Revised Vehicle Registration Procedures – effective from 01/09/2010

The Revenue Commissioners have appointed the National Car Testing Service (NCTS) to carry out a range of vehicle registration functions on their behalf.

Accordingly, it is no longer possible to register a vehicle at a Revenue public office. Instead, the vehicle must be brought to an NCTS Centre for registration. More information is available from VRT Section on the website.

Revenue staff in Tallaght and Santry will continue to deal with some vehicle registration queries such as transfers of residence applications, temporary exemptions, appeals and diplomatic exemptions (Tallaght only).

    Office of the Revenue Commissioners,
    VRT Exemptions (Dublin Southside),
