East & South East Region
The East & South East Region comprises counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Kildare, Laois, Meath, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow. Persons living in these counties and businesses managed and controlled within these counties will have their tax and duty affairs dealt with in the East & South East Region. The exception to this rule will be those businesses and individuals that fall to be managed by the Large Cases Division.
The region is sub-divided for administrative purposes into Revenue Districts, loosely based around county lines. For the most part therefore, your point of contact will be the District in which you reside or where your business is managed and controlled.
However, for some services or taxheads such as PAYE, Tax Clearance, Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT), Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT), Excise Licences, Customs and Excise Accounting and Revenue Customs Stations, they are either centralised in one District or we have taken a regional approach to contact points. The relevant links above should be followed for information on these.

An Post Parcel Depot
The region also has responsibility for the implementation of import controls on foreign parcel post arriving through the An Post Parcel Depot in Portlaoise. Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT)
The Revenue Commissioners have appointed the National Car Testing Service (NCTS) to carry out a range of vehicle registration functions on their behalf.
Accordingly, it is no longer possible to register a vehicle at a Revenue public office. Instead, the vehicle must be brought to an NCTS Centre for registration. More information is available from VRT Section on the website.
Revenue staff in the ESE Region will continue to deal with some vehicle registration queries such as transfers of residence applications, temporary exemptions and appeals. Exemption applications should be posted to the Revenue office in the county in which you reside. Applicants will be contacted to arrange appointments where necessary. The relevant forms and leaflets are available from VRT Section on the website.

The Waterford Revenue District covers the entire county of Waterford, the Clonmel area of South Tipperary and South Kilkenny. It deals with customer services including PAYE, Business Taxes and VRT. It also includes audit, compliance and control functions as well as being the regional office for C&E accounting. It also deals with Registry of Shipping and Mercantile Marine functions. It also has responsibility for the administration of the National Licence Office. The Regional Tax Clearance Certificate facility is also located in Waterford Revenue District.

Revenue Customs Service
