The region is sub-divided into Revenue Districts. Each District is responsible for Customer Service, Compliance and Audit functions for the taxes and duties for persons living in and businesses managed and controlled in its geographical area.

Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT))
The Revenue Commissioners have appointed the National Car Testing Service (NCTS) to carry out a range of vehicle registration functions on their behalf.
Accordingly, it is no longer possible to register a vehicle at a Revenue public office. Instead, the vehicle must be brought to an NCTS Centre for registration. More information is available from VRT Section on the website.
Revenue staff in the South West Region will continue to deal with some vehicle registration queries such as transfers of residence applications, temporary exemptions and appeals. Exemption applications should be posted to the Revenue office in the county in which you reside. Applicants will be contacted to arrange appointments where necessary. The relevant forms and leaflets are available from VRT Section on the website.

Customer Service Complaints
Normally the best and quickest way to resolve a customer service complaint is to contact the Revenue Office dealing with your affairs. A Revenue staff member will try to resolve your complaint without delay. However, if it cannot be resolved, or if you are unhappy with the response, then you can ask that it be reviewed by the local Manager.
If you are still unhappy, you can have your complaint referred to the Customer Service Manager in the South West Region. Contact details are as follows:
