Revenue seize contraband worth almost €675,000 in Dublin

On Monday, (12/02/2024), as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Guss and Milo, Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Dublin seized 24kg of herbal cannabis and 10kg of cannabis resin, with a combined estimated value of €540,000.

The consignments originated in Spain and were destined for addresses in Dublin and Monaghan.

Separately, on Tuesday (13/02/2024), as a result of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized over 159,000 cigarettes at a premises in Dublin.

The illicit cigarettes, branded ‘Dunhill’, have an estimated retail value of over €133,500, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €105,000.

Investigations into the above seizures are ongoing.
