Employer Copy of Tax Credit Certificate
The Revenue On-Line Service (ROS) enables employers to electronically receive and download employer copy tax credit certificates. The service covers all tax credit certificates issued in the annual Bulk Issue(s). It also covers any new case and amended tax credit certificates that arise during the year.
This file was previously available on diskette or tape from Revenue. Since 2007 this file can only be downloaded from ROS.
Employer’s copy of tax credit certificates will issue through the Revenue On-Line Service where the employer has registered for the service. For employers who have not registered for ROS, these certificates will issue on paper.
We would encourage all employers who get their Employer Copy of Tax Credit Certificates (P2C’s) on paper to register for the ROS services and opt in for this element of the service.
It should be noted however, that agents can download P2C's for all of their clients irrespective of whether they are ROS-registered or not via the "Client Services" tab on ROS. Please note that this ROS service is not available for employers who receive Tax Deduction Cards.
For more information on the benefits of the ROS services and on how to register please visit the Revenue website or phone the ROS helpline at 1890 20 11 06
Note for Employers and Third Party Software Providers
If you need to make your payroll software system compatible with the ROS P2C file please refer to http://www.ros.ie/PublisherServlet/downloads
Please note if you have previously received P2C details on Revenue diskette only, the following should be noted:
The file name on the Revenue diskette was in the format - tax registration number with extension name ".tfa" (e.g. "9999999M.tfa")
The file name of the ROS P2C file will be either: "9999999MALL.tfa" or "9999999MAMD.tfa"
If you have previously uploaded your P2C file from Revenue diskette and are now experiencing difficulty in uploading the ROS P2C file this matter may be resolved by changing the file name in the manner described above.
