Proposals to Simplify the Administration and Collection of CAT
The Office of the Revenue Commissioners has published a consultation document on the simplification of the administration and collection of Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT).
These proposals aims to bring the administration and collection of CAT into line with mainstream taxes by applying self-assessment principles and reducing excessive certification and clearances in the process.
Revenue would welcome comments on these proposals from tax practitioners and other interested parties.
We would like to invite you to comment before 1 September 2009.
