Seizure of Oil Laundry in Monaghan
In a raid on an oil laundry, officers from Revenue's Customs Service last night (5/04/04) seized 20,000 litres of oil with an estimated value of €16,000. The Customs team also seized a lorry, a van and various other items of equipment including a dozen thousand-litre drums, lengths of piping and various pumps. The oil laundry had the capacity to launder 30,000 litres per week with a potential loss of revenue running to €750,000 per annum.
The Gardai were called and one person found on the premises was arrested and questioned. A file is being prepared for the D.P.P.
Investigations are continuing.
