Over €1 Million Cocaine seizure at Dublin Airport

Officers from Revenue's Customs service at Dublin Airport today (16/12/2004) seized 14.5Kgs of Cocaine with a value of over €1 Million. The drugs were discovered concealed in false bottoms of four suitcases belonging to a man, who had flown from Lagos via Paris to Dublin. The 35-year-old Nigerian has been arrested and is being held at Santry Garda station.

This is the largest in a series of Cocaine seizures at Dublin Airport in recent months and is the largest ever seizure at an Irish airport. The haul was discovered using risk-analysis techniques.

Officers from Revenue's Customs service in Dublin Airport last night (03/12/2004) seized 5.5kgs of Cocaine valued at almost €400,000. A 20-year-old UK national has been arrested and is being held at Santry Garda station. The drugs were concealed in a false bottom suitcase the man was carrying when he arrived on a flight from Nigeria via Paris.

Two Arrests follow Cocaine seizure at Dublin Airport

Officers from Revenue's Customs service at Dublin Airport yesterday (17/11/04) seized four kilos of Cocaine with an estimated street value of €284,000.

A 33 year old female, a US national, who had flown from Lagos, Nigeria via Paris, was arrested and is being detained at Santry Garda Station. The drugs were concealed in the false bottom of two suitcases.

In a subsequent follow-up investigation a 24 year old UK national male was arrested by Gardai from the Santry Drugs Unit and is currently being questioned in Whitehall Garda Station.

Cocaine Seizure in Dublin Airport

Officers from Revenue's Customs service in Dublin Airport and the Garda National Drugs Unit this evening (23/10/2004) found 1kg of Cocaine on a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Spain. The drugs valued at €70,000 were concealed in the personal baggage of a female non-national aged in her thirties. She has been arrested and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station for questioning.

The find resulted from risk profiling by Customs officers.
