Khat seizure at Dublin Airport
Officers attached to Revenue's Customs service at Dublin Airport today (29/01/04) seized in excess of 80kgs of a drug called Khat with a street value of approximately €200,000. The drugs were discovered following a routine examination of a warehouse in North Dublin. They were packed in four cardboard boxes, described as travel documents, and consigned to separate addresses in the United States. The seized drugs will be destroyed by burning.
Investigations to determine the origin and other details are continuing.
