Revenue Wins Two Web Awards
Revenue's web services scooped two awards at the Digital Media Awards held in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin last night (02/02/05). Revenue's on-line service, ROS, came through as winner in the 'Business to Consumer' category while the main website (www.revenue.ie) was declared winner in the category of 'Most useful Web Resource'.
Accepting the awards on behalf of Revenue, Assistant Secretary Sean Connolly, Director of Revenue's Information Technology Division said,
"I am delighted that ROS continues to be acclaimed as a leading innovator in digital media in Ireland."
"Winning these awards can be attributed to the hard work of so many people throughout Revenue, working in close co-operation with our private partners, Accenture and Lan Communications/RSA Security."

ROS provides a full range of tax filing and paying services to its customers, providing a safe and speedy way to conduct business with Revenue at a time and a place that suits. ROS also provides its customers with direct access to details of their Revenue account, payments made, returns outstanding etc.
To date, over €20 billion in tax revenues has been paid through ROS. During 2004 a total of 194,544 Income Tax returns for the self-employed were filed electronically in ROS (more than 50% of all returns filed).
Over 86% of new vehicle registrations are currently processed on-line through ROS.
