Ten Million Euro of Cannabis Seized in Customs and Garda Joint Operation
Officers from Revenue's Customs service and Gardaí from the NBCI carried out a planned search of a premises in Carbury in Co Kildare this afternoon (23/08/05) and seized 1.2 tonnes of Cannabis resin valued at €10,000,000.
Four males, three Irish nationals aged 27, 30 and 43 years and one Spaniard aged 54 have been arrested and are currently been detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act. Two of the men are being detained in Naas Garda Station and the others in Newbridge and Kildare Garda Stations. An articulated lorry and a van were seized at the scene. The operation is ongoing.
