Seizure of Cocaine in Cork

Officers from Revenue’s Customs service and Gardai from Cork have seized approximately 2Kgs of Cocaine with a potential street value of €200,000. The drugs had arrived into Shannon airport from Lagos, Nigeria in a freight consignment. The seizure was made following a joint Customs/Garda surveillance operation. An African National with an address in Little Island, Cork has been arrested.

This is the fourth drug seizure from similar type operations in recent months that involved Customs and Garda co-operation. The drugs seized in the four operations had the potential street value of €500.000.
