Cigarette Seizure at Rosslare Europort

Officers from Revenue's Customs service seized 43,000 L & M and Marlboro cigarettes with an estimated street value of over €13,000. The potential loss of revenue amounts to over €10,000.

The cigarettes were concealed in a car and caravan that had arrived on the Normandy ferry from Cherbourg. The cigarettes had been concealed in the seats and gas tank of the car and in the floor of the caravan.

A Latvian man has been arrested and will appear in Wexford District Court this morning. The find resulted from risk profiling.
