Customs seize one million cigarettes in Rosslare
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service today (3/3/07) seized one million cigarettes in Rosslare. The cigarettes were concealed in the false floor of a refrigeration trailer on a Polish registered truck which had arrived on the ferry from Cherbourg, France last evening.
A Polish man in his mid-twenties is helping Custom officers with their enquiries. The cigarettes are valued at €352,500 which represented €275,000 revenue at risk. This is the largest seizure of cigarettes in Rosslare so far this year.
