€200,000 worth of Cocaine seized at Dublin Airport

Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service at Dublin Airport yesterday (09/08/07) seized 2.75kgs of cocaine, with an approximate street value of EUR 200,000, which was concealed in a cargo consignment that arrived in Dublin Airport from West Africa.

As a result of the detection a joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Officers Dublin Airport and detectives from Donnybrook, Drogheda and the Garda National Drug Unit was initiated.

This joint operation resulted in the arrest this morning (10/08/07) of a female West African national who is currently detained at Donnybrook Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 in connection with the importation.
