Drug Seizure at Cork Airport
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service have today (17/09/2007) seized 21Kgs of herbal cannabis with a street value of €250,000. A 43 year-old South African man has been arrested and is currently being held at Togher Garda station. He had arrived into Cork Airport on a flight from Johannesburg via Heathrow. When officers opened his suitcase they found it packed with the drug. The find resulted from risk profiling by Customs officers.
Investigations are continuing.
