Cannabis seizure off the west coast
Following a joint operation involving Revenue's Customs Cutter, the Naval Service and the Gardai, 8 bales of cannabis resin weighing an estimated 200kgs have been seized. The drugs have a value of between €1.2 and €1.4 million. They were discovered by a fishing vessel about 50 miles west of Slyne Head yesterday and collected by the Revenue Customs Cutter, Suirbheir, last night.
Investigations and a search of the area are continuing.
