Cocaine detected at Dublin Airport
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Airport yesterday (17/10/2007) detained a woman on suspicion of having drugs concealed internally. After questioning she was handed over to the Garda Drug Squad in Santry. She was later found to have been carrying 79 pellets of Cocaine internally, weighing approximately one kilogram and valued at €70,000.
The woman, 29 year-old Dutch passport holder, had arrived on a flight from Amsterdam when officers became suspicious. She is due to appear in court later today (18/10/07).
Drugs to a value of €5.1million have been seized by Customs Officers at Dublin Airport, including the detection of five so-called ‘swallowers’, to-date in 2007.
