Customs seize Heroin and Cocaine at Shannon Airport

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service at Shannon Airport last night (19/04/07) seized 16 grams of Heroin and one rock of crack Cocaine with an estimated street value of €3,000.

Two men, both Irish nationals, were arrested having arrived on a flight from Stanstead and are now in Garda custody.

The seizure was as a result of risk profiling by Customs.

"Crack cocaine" is cocaine that has not been neutralised by an acid. This form of cocaine comes in a rock crystal form and is heated by the drug users who smoke the vapours.
