Three arrested at Dublin Airport for smuggling Steroids

An operation by Officers of Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Airport today (27/07/2007) resulted in the arrest of three Pakistani nationals attempting to smuggle approximately 34,000 ampoules of the steroid Testosterone into the country.

The steroids, with an approximate value of €400,000, were concealed in their baggage.

Imran Younus Durrani (37), Mohammad Zahid Shaihif (30) and Mohammad Altaf (37), had arrived earlier on a flight from Karachi, Pakistan via Abu Dhabi.

The three men were arrested and charged with the evasion of Value Added Tax and the importation of a restricted medicine. They appeared in Court today and were remanded in custody and are due to appear in Clover Hill Court on Tuesday next, 31 July.
