30 Kgs Heroin Seized at Dublin Port

In an intelligence led operation between the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Garda National Drugs Unit and officers from Revenue's Customs Service, 30 kilograms of heroin with an estimated street value of €6 million was seized last night (16/12/2008) in Dublin Port.

The heroin which was concealed in a consignment of flowers was detected when two trucks were stopped and searched.

Two men in their 50's, both Dutch Nationals were arrested and are being held under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act at Store Street Garda station.
