€200,000 worth of Herbal Cannabis seized at Dublin Airport
Revenue's Customs Officers from Dublin Airport today (02/01/2008), seized 15.66 Kgs of Herbal Cannabis.
The Cannabis with an approximate street value of €200,000 was concealed in the luggage of a 58 year old West African female who arrived in Dublin Airport from Johannesburg. The detection was a result of a joint operation involving Revenue's Customs Officers, Gardai and Immigration Officers.
This joint operation resulted in the arrest of the female who is currently being detained at Santry Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 in connection with the importation.
Investigations are continuing.
