Seizure of 2Kgs Herbal Cannabis in Mullingar
Officers from Revenue’s Customs service yesterday (03/09/2008) seized 2Kgs of herbal cannabis with a street value of approximately €20,000, and a small quantity of amphetamines, in Mullingar. A 20-year-old Polish male was arrested.
The drugs had earlier arrived in the country in a package from Belgium, described as 'foodstuff'.
The seizure is part of an on-going investigation into international drug smuggling and involved Customs Officers and Gardai from Mullingar. The man is being held at Mullingar Garda station.
