Cocaine seizure at Dublin Airport
Officers from Revenue's Customs service have today (03/02/2008) seized 4.75 Kgs of cocaine with a street value of €330,000. A 20-year-old UK national has been arrested and is currently being detained in Santry Garda station.
The man had arrived on a flight from Malaga when Customs officers discovered the drugs in a false bottom in his suitcase.
In a separate operation yesterday, officers at the airport seized €100,000 in cash from an individual departing on a flight for Amsterdam. This brings the total cash seized to-date in 2008, under the Proceeds of Crime Act, to €320,000.
