€1 Million Cannabis seizure in Swords
In a joint operation involving officers of Revenue's Customs service and the Garda National Drugs Unit, 95 Kgs of cannabis resin with a street value of €1 million has been seized in Swords, today (08/08/2008). Four Irish men, aged between thirty and fifty, have been arrested and are being questioned under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996, at Santry Garda station.
The drugs were discovered when two trucks and a van were searched at Forrest Little Road, Swords. One of the trucks had earlier arrived into Dublin Port by car-ferry from the UK.
The operation resulted from intelligence.
