Herbal Cannabis Seized in Dundalk
As a result of an ongoing investigation into drug smuggling involving Revenue Customs Officers from Dundalk, Dublin Airport and Gardai from the Dundalk Garda Drugs unit, approximately 15 Kg of Herbal Cannabis with an estimated street value of €150,000 was seized in Dundalk last night (14/04/2008).
A 53 year old South African national (male) was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act of 1996, at Dundalk Garda Station.
The man had arrived earlier in Dublin Airport having travelled on a flight from Johannesburg via Amsterdam.
