Appointment of Revenue Commissioner
The Taoiseach Mr. Brian Cowen T.D. has appointed Mr Liam Irwin as Revenue Commissioner. He succeeds Ms. Josephine Feehily, who was recently appointed Chairman of the Revenue Board.
Mr. Irwin has been Deputy Secretary and Accountant General in Revenue since 2004 with particular responsibility for strategy and planning. He previously served for ten years as Collector-General.
A native of Tralee in Co. Kerry Mr Irwin received his secondary education in CBS, The Green, Tralee.
He is married to Terri and they have two daughters and one son.
