Revenue and Youghal Town Council sign Memorandum of Understanding
The Revenue Commissioners and the Youghal Town Council today, Thursday, (20/11/2008) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which promises a strengthening of existing local co-operation.
The MOU was signed by Tony Buckley, Assistant Secretary of the South West Region, on behalf of the Revenue Commissioners and Oliver Casey, Mayor, on behalf of Youghal Town Council.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr Buckley said:
"We recognise that these guidelines are a first step in the development of co-operative measures within the spirit of this Memorandum of Understanding and commit to a close working relationship with Youghal Town Council in preventing illegal importation of prohibited weapons, prohibited dangerous goods, prohibited substances and devices".
To coincide with the signing of the MOU members of the Southern Regional Drugs Task Force were present to highlight the roll out of new Customs Drugswatch signs along the south coast.
