€1.1 Million Cannabis Seizure in Dublin

As a result of a joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs Unit, cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.1million has been seized.

The find was discovered following a search this evening (23/07/2008) at a warehouse in Blanchardstown. The drugs were concealed in pallets of tiles which had been imported from southern Spain.

Two men, aged 39 years and 53 years, were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
