Cannabis and Cocaine Seized at Dublin Airport
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Airport yesterday (02/12/2009) seized approximately 20Kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €240,000.
The drugs were discovered in the baggage of a South African female who had arrived in Dublin Airport from Johannesburg. The drugs were concealed within a suitcase of clothing.
The woman was arrested and handed over to the Ballymun Garda Drug Squad and she appeared in Blanchardstown District Court this morning where she was remanded in custody.
On Tuesday (01/12/2009), Officers of Revenue's Customs Service intercepted two Guinea-Bissau nationals with €35,000 of cocaine. Both men are in their thirties. One of the individuals had concealed two pellets, containing a 100Grms, internally on his person and the second had ingested 45 pellets containing 400Grms of cocaine. Both men, who had arrived on a flight from Lisbon, were handed over to Dublin Airport Gardaí. They appeared at Blanchardstown District Court this morning and were remanded in custody.
