3.7 million cigarettes seized in Co Louth
In a joint operation involving officers of Revenue's Customs service and the Gardai at Ardee, 3.6 million cigarettes with a street value of approximately €1.3 million were seized at a premises in Co Louth on Monday last, (02/02/09).
The cigarettes seized were a mix of brands including 'Raquel' and 'Regal' with a potential loss to Revenue of €1.12 million.
A man in his early 50's has been interviewed and investigations are ongoing.
