Cannabis Seizure in Cahir, Co. Tipperary
As part of an ongoing joint operation into drug trafficking in the Tipperary area, Officers from Revenue's Customs Service from Waterford and Gardai from the Tipperary Garda Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house in Cahir, Co Tipperary today (31/07/2009).
Approx 1 Kg of Herbal Cannabis and a quantity of Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of over EUR12,000 were seized.
A Polish national was arrested & brought to Cahir Garda Station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
He was later brought before a special sitting of Cahir District Court where Judge Finn remanded him in custody to a special sitting of Clonmel District Court on Tuesday 02/08/2009 at 3pm.
Further investigations are ongoing.
