Drugs worth over €1 Million Seized in Wicklow
Following a joint operation involving officers from Revenue's Customs Service and the Garda National Drug Unit,100 Kgs of Cannabis, with an approximate street value of €1,050,000, was seized yesterday afternoon (03/11/2009), at Hempstown, Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
The drugs, 75Kgs of Herbal Cannabis and 25Kgs of Cannabis Resin, had arrived from Holland through Dublin Port earlier in the day and were concealed in a consignment of lamps and clothing.
Investigations into the organised crime gang behind the seizure are continuing.
