363 Cases of Wine seized in Monaghan
Officers of Revenue's Customs Service based in Clones, Co. Monaghan today (04/11/2009), seized 363 cases of wine containing 2,178 bottles and valued at €11,750.
The goods which were imported from Northern Ireland and destined for the market in the State were seized from a business premises in Co Cavan. One person was interviewed and enquiries are continuing.
The potential loss to the exchequer in Excise Duty and VAT is €8,998.
