300,000 Cigarettes and Tobacco Seized in Cork
In an operation in the north side of Cork city today (22/12/2009), Revenue's Customs Service executed search warrants on three private dwellings.
Approximately 300,000 unstamped cigarettes and approximately 10kgs of unstamped tobacco were detained, with an estimated loss to Revenue of €100,000 and an estimated retail value of €130,000.
A commercial vehicle and a high powered saloon were also seized.
Investigations are ongoing.
