€216,000 of Cannabis seized by Customs at Dublin Airport
Officers of Revenue's Customs Service seized 18Kgs of herbal Cannabis at Dublin Airport yesterday afternoon (26/10/2009).
The drugs, with a street value of €216,000, were discovered when officers examined the baggage of a 27-year-old Lithuanian male. He had arrived from Sierra Leone, Africa, via London. The drugs were wrapped in carbon paper, foil and plastic in order to evade detection by Customs.
The man was arrested and handed over to the Gardai and is due to appear in court this afternoon.
Over €4 million worth of Drugs have been seized by Customs Officers at Dublin Airport to date in 2009.
