Customs Seize Cigarettes and Alcohol in Kerry
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service in Tralee, last night (30/09/2010) seized 500,000 cigarettes, 130kgs of hand rolling tobacco and over 1,000 litres of suspected counterfeit vodka product.
The seizure, which is a part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes, has a potential retail value of approximately €300,000. Brands seized include 'Palace', 'John Player Blue' and 'B & H'.
A vehicle was also seized and two men in their forties have been questioned.
Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
Revenue were assisted by Gardaí in this operation.
