Seizure of Cocaine in Galway by Customs
Revenue's Customs Service, in a joint operation with the Garda National Drugs Unit in Gort Co.Galway today, (02/11/2010) seized 7kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of €2m, pending forensic analysis .
A male in his thirties and a female in her twenties were arrested by Gardai under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 and are currently being held at Galway Garda Station.
The drugs had been imported through Shannon Airport in a parcel originating in the United States of America.
Investigations are ongoing.
