Seizure of illegally imported kerosene in Donegal
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, assisted by officers from Sligo, seized yesterday (3/02/2010 ) an oil tanker carrying kerosene which was illegally imported from Northern Ireland.
In a follow up search of three premises, officers detained further quantities of illegally imported product. A total of approximately 36,000 litres of kerosene was detained. The oil and tanker are valued at €30,000.
A number of people have been interviewed in relation to the matter and a file is being prepared with a view to prosecution.
