Customs Seize 27,000 Litres of Illicit Fuel
Revenue's Customs Service, last Thursday (11/11/2010), seized 27,000 litres of diesel from a garage in Limerick City. The diesel, with an estimated loss to the exchequer of €14,675, was confirmed to be illicit fuel on which the appropriate rate of excise duty had not been paid.
An oil tanker delivering to the premises at the time was also seized.
A file is being prepared for the DPP.
