755,000 Cigarettes and Tobacco Seized in Cork
Revenue's Customs Service in Carrignavar, Co.Cork yesterday (27/01/2010) seized 755,000 cigarettes and 525kgs of tobacco which were untaxed and counterfeit. The seizure has an estimated retail value of €500,000. Two vehicles were also seized. Follow up searches took place in the north side of Cork city and east Cork. One man in his forties was arrested. Investigations are ongoing.
