Customs Seize Drugs in Dublin Port
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service, today (12/10/2011), seized 4kg of herbal cannabis, with a potential street value in excess of €40,000, when they stopped and searched a van disembarking a ferry that had arrived from Holyhead.
Officers made the seizure on foot of routine profiling. The drugs were concealed in the engine compartment of the van and in the spare wheel. A drug detector dog was used to uncover the drugs.
An Irish male in his forties was arrested and is currently being held at Store Street Garda Station.
