Cigarettes Seized at Dublin Airport
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service, yesterday (17/08/2011), seized 9,780 cigarettes, with an estimated retail value of €4,200 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €3,700.
A 29 year old Moldovan national, was stopped and searched by officers, having arrived from Moscow. The 'Bond' brand cigarettes were discovered in a suitcase.
He was arrested and appeared before Judge Denis McLoughlin in Dublin District Court, this morning, where he was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill District Court next Thursday 25/08/2011.
