Customs Seize €1.1m of Cannabis at Dublin Port

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Port this morning (20/10/11) seized approximately 99kgs of cannabis resin and approximately 44kgs of herbal cannabis with a combined potential street value of approximately €1.1m.

Officers made the seizure on foot of routine profiling and a reaction by a Customs drug detection dog. The drugs were concealed in bags of woodchip and large food tins within a 40ft container, which arrived in Dublin Port from Holyhead this morning. Both the truck and trailer were seized.

Two males, one from the UK and one from Northern Ireland were arrested and taken to Store Street Garda Station.
