Customs Seize Drugs in Navan
As part of an intelligence led operation, Officers from Revenue's Customs Service and members of the Garda National Drugs Unit from Meath and Kildare, yesterday (25/05/2011), seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €1.5m, at an apartment complex in Navan.
The operation followed the detection of 20kg of cocaine, by Customs Officers at Dublin Airport, concealed in a courier parcel from South America.
Officers also discovered a cocaine mixing facility, cocaine mixing utensils, a further seven kilos of suspected cocaine, with a street value of €490,000 and a suspected kilo of Heroin, subject to analysis. Cash in excess of Stg£50,000 was also seized.
Three non Irish males in their thirties were arrested and are currently being detained, at Finglas and Kells Garda Stations, under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
