Customs Seize €1m of Herbal Cannabis
Revenue's Customs Service today (29/06/11) seized 91kgs of herbal cannabis at Dublin Port with an estimated street value of €1 million, subject to analysis. The seizure is a result of a joint operation between Revenue and the Garda National Drugs Unit.
The drugs were concealed in a consignment of chocolates and sweets that had arrived in Dublin Port from the Netherlands.
One man, an Irish national in his late twenties has been arrested and is being held at Ballymun Garda Station.
The detection was a result of profiling by Officers at Dublin Port.
