Customs Seize €1m of Drugs at Dublin Port
Revenue's Customs Service today (29/07/11) seized 75kgs of cannabis resin, 25kgs of herbal cannabis and 2.3kgs of cocaine, with a potential street value of approximately €1m, at Dublin Port.
The drugs were concealed in a refrigerated 40ft container, which arrived in Dublin Port from Germany via Holyhead this morning and were detected by a Customs drug dog. Both the truck and trailer were seized.
One male, a UK National in his fifties, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently being held in Store Street Garda Station. Enquiries are ongoing both nationally and internationally.
