Summary
Liam Kenneally, with an address at 36 Dunmore Gardens, Knocknaheeney, County Cork was charged with the following offence;
- Keeping for sale or delivery 290,660 cigarettes on which the appropriate tax was not paid, contrary to Section 78 of the Finance Act 2005.
The charge arose following a detection of 290,660 cigarettes by Revenue Enforcement Officers at Stoneridge, Shanakiel, County Cork on 22nd December 2009.
Outcome
On the 7th of February at Cork Circuit Court, Liam Kenneally pleaded guilty to the charge. He was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment, with the final 18 months suspended on the accused entering into a bond to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for a period of 3 years.
