Capital Gains Tax Mail Shot
In a customer service initiative with a view to promoting voluntary compliance, Revenue have issued a letter dated 20 October 2009 to approximately 7,000 customers who disposed of property during the year ended 31 December 2008. The purpose of the letter is to remind them that payment of any capital gains tax arising is overdue and of their obligation to file a capital gains tax return by 31 October 2009. The letter targets disposals of non-principal private residences. .
