Conversions

Overview

A 'conversion' means that you modify the characteristics of a vehicle so that the details given at registration are changed. There are three ways in which a vehicle can be converted:

  1. Converting a new and unregistered vehicle.
  2. Converting a vehicle registered outside of Ireland before registration in Ireland.
  3. Converting a vehicle already registered in Ireland.

This section outlines the steps in the vehicle conversion process.

You can find more detailed information on conversions in the relevant VRT Manual.
